1779: The North Mall Distillery is opened in Co. Cork

1780: John Jameson establishes the Bow Street Distillery in Co. Dublin.
1791: John Power establishes the John’s Lane Distillery, in Thomas Street, Dublin.
1825: Murphy Bros. found the Midleton Distillery, Co. Cork and install the world’s largest pot still with a capacity of 31,500 gallons.
1891: The Jameson Family partnership managing the distillery forms a private limited company. John Jameson’s three star whiskey is renowned throughout the world.
1894: Powers Gold Label is launched.
1941: Cork Dry Gin is launched by the Cork Distillers Company.
1966: John Jameson & Sons Ltd, John Power and Sons, and the Cork Distilleries Company put centuries of rivalry behind them and amalgamated to form the United Distillers of Ireland. (UDI)
UDI also stood for the Unilateral Declaration of Independence in Rhodesia. In case there is any confusion between African politics and Irish Whiskey, the Irish UDI quickly changes its name to Irish Distillers Limited.

1968: The first bottling of the Jameson Red Seal, which has become the internationally successful brand of Irish whiskey enjoyed around the world today was in fact, the first distillery bottled brand for the Jameson stable.
1972: The Old Bushmills Distillery, Co. Antrim becomes part of Irish Distillers.
1975: A new distillery is opened in Midleton, Co. Cork, as further expansion of the Jameson and Powers original distilleries in Dublin. Expansion in Dublin was not possible owing to their location in the heart of the city.
1988: Irish Distillers becomes part of Pernod Ricard and distribution of Jameson in many markets around the world is entrusted to affiliates of the Pernod Ricard Group.

1992: The Jameson Heritage Centre is opened in Midleton, Co. Cork.
1993: “Jameson on the Rocks” During the Admiral’s Cup, the Jameson yacht sinks in full view of the world’s TV cameras.
1995: Annual global sales of Jameson exceed 10 million bottles. As a result Jameson enters the Top 100 World Spirit brands by value.
1996: Worldwide sales of Jameson reach the magic million case mark (300 million measures). Jameson becomes the fastest growing international spirit brand in the world, according to Drinks International Bulletin.
1997: The USA team sail the Jameson yacht which goes on to win the Admiral's Cup.
1997: The Old Jameson Distillery in Bow Street Dublin re-opens its doors as a new visitor centre.
1999: Jameson asks ‘What’s the rush?’
2001: The acquisition of Seagrams by Pernod Ricard in partnership with Diageo takes place.
2003: Irish Whiskey sells 38 million bottles worldwide.
2004: Jameson is the world’s fastest growing international whiskey brand.
2005: The acquisition of Allied Domecq by Pernod Ricard in partnership with Fortune Brands takes place. The Old Bushmills Distillery is sold as part of this acquisition. Jameson experiences double-digit growth in Ireland and is once again the fastest growing international whiskey (4th year running).
2006: Jameson sells 2 million cases worldwide (600 million measures)
